When we hop in the car sometimes we are driving around just to drive but other times we are on a mission. The same can be said about our lives. Sometimes we feel like we are just living to get through that day but other times we feel as though we are here for a purpose.
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for wholeness and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." ~ Jeremiah 29:11The great part about that is, yes, we can choose the path but the LORD leads the way if we let Him drive.
"The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps." ~ Proverbs 16:9Sometimes the road that we are traveling may feel like a highway. The road is smooth and things go flying past our windows at speeds where, if you're not looking close enough, you might miss something. Other times it may feel like you're taking the service road. You're paralleling the highway, watching everyone else fly past you headed in the same direction, but you just don't seem to be able to get there as fast. Yet other times it could feel like you're driving through a subdivision, looking in on other's lives. Wondering what they are doing and why God has chosen to give some people one blessing and another something else. There are even those times when it feels like you are driving through a construction zone. Bouncing around on broken pieces of asphalt, going so slow that it is going to make you late and eventually you may even forget what your initial plans were because all you can think about is getting out of the traffic and congestion that surround you.
No matter the journey we are on right now I love the fact that our God provides road signs for us to follow
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." ~ Psalm 119:105and when we are in doubt we know we can rely on the amazing truth of God...
"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you." ~ Psalm 32:8Life's road trips are full of wonder, adventure, unforeseen obstacle, and some pretty surprising sound tracks. I don't know about you but I feel a lot more safe with Jesus behind the wheel of my car on the road trip that is my life. I've got my seat belt fastened, the music turned up and the best chauffeur in the world. Who's up for a road trip?
